Re-Hamzat and the Future of Lagos: My Final Words (19459000)

Normally, the media lackey who replied to my column last week about Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu would not have noticed for a simple reason: Our revered patriarch President Bola Tinubu GCFR installed this administration. This counter-response was necessary to correct some misinformation.
It is important to clarify the facts.
Tayo Obiyi’s byline, which adorned the reply, stated falsely that there was no reason to the opinion piece written by Mobolaji Sanusi who had been fired from The Lagos State Signage and Advertising Agency for alleged lack of competence.
It is surprising that a “supposed Director”* in a ministry that is meant to educate and inform the public, could be institutionally ignorant. He and his political leaders could easily have contacted the Public Service Office to ask about my records and to find out the reasons for why I left the Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA) on December 2019 by contacting the Public Service Office.
It is clear that Sanwo Olu has bred a culture of institutional decay in the civil service, which was once regarded as exemplary of discipline.
For the sake of educating this official who was ignorant, it is important to note that I wasn’t ‘fired.’ Instead, my leadership at that agency has been a benchmark for leadership integrity, regulation discipline, accountability, and progress. Let it be known, more importantly that I left the agency unbowed after my four-year renewable tenure.
As of today, I am the only former managing director to date who has spent more than three months beyond the four-year statutory period stated in my letter of appointment and with no blemish. My record in the agency is *res-ipsa-loquitur*, and I say this with all humility.
Adedamola Docemo was removed by the Governor Sanwo-Olu after only three years in office. Ogunbiyi’s team and Ogunbiyi himself should reveal to the public, interested parties, what led up to this.
Author engaged in sophistry when he made accusations uncorroborated that “attempted to present speculative alignments and introduce unfounded allegations regarding the working relationships within the Babajide Olusola Sanwo Olu administration in Lagos State.”
This’senior’ official of this administration could have shown *excerpts* where I said this or implied this. He’s not directly exposing tensions between these two that others and myself might not know about.
Finaly, I have no intention of engaging in public spats with the governor appointed by our revered President and political patriarch. This is the reason why I won’t make any more comments.
Not even about Ogunbiyi referring to the “expansion of infrastructure” being the main thrust behind the Sanwo Olu administration.
My case is restated.
