The editors of Inc. review thousands of submissions each year, highlighting women founders that are challenging the status quo, and tackling the biggest issues in the world. The editors select applicants after three rounds of evaluation, focusing on the entrepreneur’s past achievements. The criteria include quantitative metrics, such as sales, revenue, funding and audience size. Inc. looks at qualitative metrics such as social media momentum, impact stories and other qualitative indicators.

The program advisory board also evaluates the honorees. Cate Luzio is the founder and CEO at Luminary. Dany Garcia is the founder, CEO and chairman of Garcia Companies. Pinky Cole-Hayes, the founder and CEO at Slutty Vegan, Anu Duggal founded Female Founders Fund. Katherine Power was a serial entrepreneur at Greycroft. Tiffany Dufu has been the president and founder at the Tory Burch Foundation.
